INFO ON THE MATCHES CAN BE FOUND AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST.
How it began! Back in the alpha 4 release of Resistance and Liberation, the 6th AB clan would hold a public realism match on a weekly basis. Anyone was allowed to join these matches; or even leading them, provided you had a microphone and at least some tactical insight. It allowed everyone to take part in the chain of command. After all, we needed several officers on each team, each commanding their own squad. Preferably, there would be one leader per team, coordinating the separate squads. Ever Thursday evening, the 6th AB server would be completely full with public players and a few clan-members to kick teamkillers, or to take command when they had to. But that's a long time ago! That's why we want to bring it back, it was so much fun! People would talk about it, post their memorable experiences and screenshots. And maybe even more important: They can see how RnL is a whole lot more fun when played using teamwork. What do you propose? To start these realism-sessions, I will need a few things: ( = Taken care of | = Not taken care of yet) A server with changeable squad-scripts and settings. Thank you Pendragon. For the first match, a few people I can trust to put in command. Once the public players see what is expected, anyone is free to take command. I would like to put up a small manual-kind-of-text with some basic info on commanding, the different maps + objectives, .. A steam group. For starters, we will place the announcements in the "High Activity Announcer" group. A set day and time for the match (Once a week, maybe twice: American/Europeans). Seems like it'll be on a Saturday-evening. - .. General Info and Rules 1 overall commander (NCO/Grüppenfuhrer of the first squad) on each team; he will give orders to all the squads. Apart from the first squad, all squads have an NCO who give orders to their own squad, but the main orders come from the commander (who also commands his own (defensive) squad). - Rules: -- You must listen to your NCO. -- Teamkilling/teamwounding is not allowed. -- No rambo-ing (running off on your own). -- No micro-spamming. Info on the first match played: 17/08 - Map: Ste Marie Dumont Map specific rules: - Germans: You're not allowed to go to the first Allied spawn. We played two rounds, where we simply swapped the entire teams for the second round. In the first round, the Allies managed to get to the cider farm, but they didn't succeed in capturing the city. The Germans managed to hold the cider farm in the end. The second round, the Allies had a hard time trying capturing the corn farm, eventhough they already had a few soldiers inside the cider farm. The second round ended with the Allies unable to capture the corn farm. Info on the second match To be played: ???? - Map: Sainte-Mère-Eglise Map specific rules: - Germans: -- You are not allowed to go to the first Allied spawn. -- Once you lose the cabbage farm; you are not allowed to recapture it, or advance from the Old Folks Home (OFH) towards the crossroads. Thats along the lines of what i'm thinking. I'm going to do a teamplay event this saturday at 2pm EST (7pm/1900 GMT?). I hope to make it more frequent and more self-sustaining as more qualified people show an interest in leading.

The plan was to have 2 different events; one for Europeans and one for Americans (because some people still have high-ping issues).
PoorlaggedMan organized an event on an American server this week.

Maybe you'll have more luck but I think it'd be best to have 2+ people with admin on each team at least when you're doing one. I was so busy kicking/banning/giving warnings in my teamplay that I only made use of about a minute of the planning phase.
